Respectfully, doing something without considering deeply the costs to society in entirety simply because “its what everyone wants” is harmful, lazy and has real consequences for the powerless. Somebody ultimately pays especially those who have less access to resources. Making good decisions is hard and should not be left to a heuristic of “just do it because it’s good.”
